  1. I’ve had severe to moderate acne since elementary school and I’ve had the most success dealing with it this year. I started getting chemical peels back in January which helped with clogged pores and scars from previous breakouts. My clarisonic actually stopped my breakouts all together, it’s amazing but weird that a vibrating brush is so effective! I wish I would’ve bought it sooner, I doubt that I would’ve still spent $300 on chemical peels.

  2. Tamanu oil works wonders for acne too. I ordered it from Amazon after Dr. Oz recommended it. I’ve always had a few pimples on my face since I was about 10yrs old. Never been w/out them until Tamanu oil. I was skeptical b/c I have oily skin but I put it on at night and no pimples. None!

I love my Clarisonic too! Now I’m just working to fade marks, even my skintone, minimize my pores and keep the oil down.

  3. I’ve tried so many different things, but what’s working for me now is regular use of an ayurvedic face mask I mix up. The combination of Mati (fuller’s earth), Neem, and Amla have really kept my skin balanced and breakout free!

  4. The baking soda is a great tip. I’ve been using for about 2 weeks now and it makes my skin brighter. Just have to be careful as it can a little rough. I’ve also been using Johnson & Johnson baby wash on my face. If its gentle enough for a baby I figured it would be gentle enough for my face. So far so good. And the 100% cocoa butter stick by Cococare is good too. Great for even complexion and fading dark marks. I’ve learned that my face appreciates simple products.

    Great article.

    • Yes it’s the ish!! LOL The cocoa butter doesn’t clog my pores at all. I melt a little bit over the stove, rub my hands together and smooth it on my face. It really does absorbs. If I put too much on I’ll dab my face with a tissue but it’s worked good for me for the last year. Before that I was using shea butter, a couple of drops of any one of the following oils – olive, almond, grapeseed, jojoba
